With our devicenow DaaS solution, we operate in a fast-moving, modern environment. Speed, performance, and efficiency are our standard. But let’s be honest: sometimes there’s just no time to step back and explore the ideas shaping our industry and discover the great minds behind them.
That’s why we’re launching “3 Questions to…”, a compact Q&A series with thought leaders from our partner network. Only three questions. Only three answers. But plenty of insight. Your knowledge snack for in-between.
IT leaders are under pressure to justify every budget line. The Total Economic Impact™ methodology exists precisely for that reason: independent, structured analysis of what a technology investment actually delivers. €16.2M NPV, 89% ROI: this is what Enterprise DaaS can deliver. devicenow commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study examining the potential return on investment enterprises may realize by adopting devicenow Enterprise Device as a Service. The study aggregates insights from customer interviews into a composite organization representing global enterprises, and the numbers make a compelling case.
Christin Wehrstedt is VP Global Expansion / Strategic Partnerships & Procurement at devicenow, where she is responsible for driving the company’s international growth, strategic alliances, and global procurement. With several years of experience in the DaaS and consulting environment, she approaches every topic in a structured and methodical way, with a strong emphasis on building sustainable relationships and long-term value behind every solution and partnership.
From my opinion devicenow can demonstrate a high level of performance in Device-As-A-Service (DaaS) as a subscription model in the global landscape. But there is a difference between presenting that through marketing content or actually having valid, verifiable data that credibly proves the value of your solution. In my view, this is only truly achievable through a qualified study conducted by a neutral third party – one that speaks directly with key stakeholders, such as our customers, to create a solid and transparent evaluation model. That is exactly what the TEI study has delivered, and with Forrester as one of the most respected analyst firms internationally, it was the ideal partner for this. I am very proud that we took this approach.
The study reveals impressive figures. Over a three-year period, a typical global organization achieves a return on investment (ROI) of 89 %. The net present value (NPV) amounts to € 16.2 million – with total benefits of € 34.4 million compared to costs of € 18.2 million.
Value is from my perspective created in three main areas: First, operational efficiency – IT teams save up to € 4.6 million through reduced effort in device staging, replacement, and end-of-life handling. Second, cost structure and predictability – avoided hardware procurement and logistics costs can reach up to € 27.1 million. Third, employee productivity – waiting times for unplanned device replacements are reduced by up to 75 %, translating into up to € 2.7 million in recaptured productivity. The data speaks for itself.
I was more than happy, that the feedback has been very positive. One interviewee highlighted that switching to devicenow freed up IT capacity to focus on local business needs. One study participant cited the reduction of capital expenditure – particularly peaks in hardware spend – as a key goal that was successfully achieved. What I was really impressed about, was the fact another noted that employees are significantly happier with the new device procurement process. What matters is this: if we spend so much time at work, then it should at least be convenient to work. All conditions – including the technical ones – should be optimal, and you should enjoy what you do all day long.
What Christin describes is the difference between claiming value and proving it. The Forrester TEI study does the latter: independent research, real customer interviews, and figures that hold up to scrutiny – an 89% ROI, €16.2 million in net present value, and measurable gains across IT efficiency, cost predictability, and employee experience. But beyond the numbers, what comes through is a simple conviction: that good technology should make work easier and more enjoyable for the people who rely on it every day. That is the standard devicenow holds itself to, and it is now backed by data that any CFO, CIO, or IT leader can bring into the room.
